Technical characteristics of the Rafale gun
The Rafale heat shrink gun is supplied to you in a case that allows you to store its thermal reflector and its pressure reducer (adjustable from 1.5 to 3.5 bars), with a pressure gauge protected against shocks. The rubber hose is 8 meters long. A pair of anti-scald safety gloves is supplied with the gun. Note that the stainless steel burner has double protection, in order to stay warm and avoid burns in the event of unexpected contact.
The ignition is automatic. Its quick and rotating connection contributes to its efficiency. With one click, your gun is operational.
The burner is wide and rotates 360°. This makes it possible to quickly cover large areas and to work at a high rate. Its weight of only 1.3 kilos allows you to use it for long periods.
Whether you use it indoors or outdoors, the heat flow remains even and constant. Optimal use is made about thirty centimeters from the film to be shrunk.
Rafale connects to a 13 or 35kg propane cylinder. Its ignition is by automatic piezo and offers you a significant productivity gain. The safety system ensures automatic shutdown as soon as you release the trigger. You then have the folding attachment hook to rest the device.
The width of the flame measures 150mm. You can easily control the pressure, thanks to the trigger that helps you control the heating power.
Guilbert Express, the designer of the Rafale gun, has thought about the comfort of its user by working to reduce the noise level. With an average of 88 db at 1m, you don’t need hearing protection.
Finally, all security measures are ensured. The high-strength hardened steel swivel fastening coupling prevents any risk of the supply hose twisting. In addition, a safety valve is automatically triggered if the hose breaks, preventing gas from escaping.
Applications of the Rafale gun
The shrink gun is used for logistics and packaging. It allows you to heat shrink tubing of all thicknesses and sizes.
This way you can pack your pallets for storage or transport. Shrink-wrapping allows you to protect your goods in all situations, including theft.
Shrink-wrapping is also used to protect machines and mechanical sub-assemblies. You can pack all types of products for shipment, from the smallest to the largest: bicycles, motorcycles, cars, airplane engines, etc.
The nautical community uses it a lot for wintering. You will be able to completely wrap your boat, so that it spends the winter sheltered from bad weather. In order to avoid problems with dampness and mould, you can create small openings which are used to isnert air vents and thus allow air to pass through, but not dirt and possible harmful insects and rodents.
On a large scale, the Rafale gun is used for the stiffening of scaffolding and the containment of buildings. You can use it, for example, to insulate a part of the construction site that needs to be protected from dust coming from outside or, on the contrary, to prevent substances from spreading outside, for asbestos removal sites, for example.
