The Vulcane Express 491 flame and hot air torch is a very versatile tool for many different trades. It can be used as a torch for soldering work, but also as a heat gun for certain plumbing work or for working with heat-shrink film.
A case for easy transport, without the risk of losing your accessories
The hot air torch is supplied with its own case. It allows you to store:
- your Vulcane Express 491 torch;
- its XPRESS GAS™ cartridge Ref. 2400;
- one spare XPRESS GAS™ cartridge Ref. 2400;
- its special hot air ignition, reference 4750;
- a spare piezo;
- your protective gloves;
- your safety glasses.
Note that XPRESS GAS™ gas cartridges are not refillable. However, they are recyclable. You should not throw them in your personal bin, but take them to the waste disposal centre. They should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. They should never be exposed to temperatures above 50°C. The case protects them from the sun’s rays, but not completely from heat, so don’t leave, for example, in a car parked in the sun while you are working. In addition, the gas can be used at temperatures as low as -20°C.
The lifespan of an XPRESS GAS™ cartridge is approximately two hours. With the spare cartridge in the case, you have a total working time of 4 hours.
Characteristics of the Vulcane 491 hot air torch
Soldering iron and hot air gun
The hot air torch can reach a heating temperature of up to 2400°C with a power of 3.5 kW and a nozzle diameter of 28. If you use it as a welding or soldering torch, you will have a constant and enveloping quality flame. This feature allows you to work easily on pipes and ducts where the heat will be well distributed all around.
When you want to use it as a hot air gun, changing the nozzle takes only a second. The assembly and disassembly is done by simply turning the nozzle to unlock it.
The flame strength is adjusted by means of a dial on the back of the gun. This dial can be locked.
Once you have mounted the nozzle for the hot air gun, you can work on various construction sites:
- plumbing and socketing work on PVC pipes;
- all waterproofing work;
- stripping of furniture, shutters, etc.;
- wallpaper removal ;
- shrinking of film for pallets, various types of packaging, boat wintering, etc.
Practical tool, can be dismantled without tools
The torch is ergonomically designed, with a handle that ensures a good grip. It is lightweight, so you can work for long periods of time without the risk of wrist fatigue. If you want to make your work even easier, you can connect the gas cartridge to the torch with a flexible hose and attach the cartridge to your belt or place it next to you. This way, you keep all your maneuverability and autonomy, without having the weight of the cartridge weighing on your wrist. It also allows you to work in the most inaccessible corners, without being encumbered by the cartridge.
The hot air torch works in any position, including upside down.
The piezo can be changed easily, without the need for tools.
